Leroy,
I must agree with you and phantom that the forum is used far too little.  I am uncertain of the circumstance of your visit to 639, but as a post member that recently transferred to 639 and paid up for life, I must say it was because of the way I have been treated there by my fellow legionaries.  I had been a member of the Legion for over 10 years but had stayed "Missouri" post, never transferring to a local post.  I was impressed with the American Legion's work on behalf of veterans on the State and National level but dissatisfied with my local post.  Through my work with the Patriot Guard I came to know many of the members at Post 639, have seen their dedication, respect and pride in their post.  Although it is 70 miles one way for me to 639, I am now and will remain a proud member of post 639.  I think you will find the folks there good company, and you are always welcome at my table.  Please remember that some folks, especially seated at the bar, want to have a drink in peace and unless you strike up a conversation no one will ever get to know you.  I hope to meet you soon!!
