Rules and Regulations for Chapter 9

American Legion Riders of Missouri

Rules and Regulations:

          The following are the Rules and Regulations for Chapter 9 of the American Legion Riders of Missouri.  These Rules and Regulations implement the By-Laws of the American Legion Riders of Missouri.

I.                   Membership:

B.     Must be a registered owner of a motorcycle licensed and insured in accordance with Missouri law.  The motorcycle should be at least 250cc in size.

C.     This chapter will not have junior members.  A limited     

requirement of at least 21 years of age is established.  But they must be members of the American Legion, the Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion, I (A) the By-Laws.

II.                Special Class Membership/Honorary Membership:

A.     A maximum number of 3 Honorary Members per year will be granted on this special class membership. Gene Beattie was granted on February 1, 2006 Honorary Membership in recognition of his help and support in starting this chapter.

III.             The following additional officers are required A.

IV.            Meetings:

A.     Meeting will be held on the 3^rd Sunday of each month at Post #639 @5p.m. (unless otherwise notified).

VII.         Finances:

A.     Dues will be $20.00 per calendar year.  New members       joining in October or later will pay dues for the next year.

B.     Checking account will be with Great Southern Savings and Loan Bank.  Four members names will be on the bank account and that two non-related signatures will be required to issue any checks from that account.

C.     Purchases by the Executive Board are limited to $100.00 for operating expenses without having to gain approval from the general membership.

D.     The Chapter will pay dues on our member who are currently serving in Iraq .

IX. Patch Requirement:

A.  Patches will be ordered from Legion Sales, by the members themselves.

B.     Members will buy their own patch from Legion Sales.

C.     Only pins and patches “in good taste” will be worn on the front of members vest.  Members reserve the right to vote on unacceptable pins and/or patches.

X.               Charter Membership:

A. The first 25 members to join will be charter members.

          XI.     Residency:

A.     Chapter members are NOT required to be members of the sponsoring post.

A.     These Rules and Regulations were approved by the membership on February 1, 2006.
